My Tank Sprayer Leaks?

I recently bought a Village Green 2 gallon pressure tank sprayer at Big Lots, item # GWR4206G. It leaks. So have many similar over the years, bought at different stores. When I put them in a bucket, 5 gallon or more, to stabilize them in my truck when I'm driving, I find a puddle of herbicide solution in the bucket. Over time, all the herbiced leaks out. It's messy. Just this morning, I left it only a few hours and there was an accumulation of herbicide in the bowl-lid on top. The sprayer tip was clipped on the side in an upright position, where it was supposed to be. I know these are cheap sprayers. Is this unavoidable, or is something not working the way it should?
