What helped your toddler become more relaxed floating on their back?

In order to teach my younger sister (she is 30 months) to float on her back, I told her I'd always be there if she needed. I then splashed a little bit on the back to make her feel a bit more comfortable. Then I allowed her to lay back and I held her head and covered her ears to prevent the water from getting into her ears and scaring her. Ask him to hold his arms out a bit. Then try pulling them through the water evenly. If you make any abrupt movements they will become scared and tense up which will cause them to sink a bit in the water which will make them not want to swim anymore. MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS SUPPORT THEIR NECK, HEAD, AND BACK.When he gets a bit more relaxed you can try teaching him to do it alone. Remove your hands slowly and make it look like you're near him. Soon, he'll be floating freely.
